John Day Fossil Beds

Our roadtrip through the sagebrush covered hills, and badlands of eastern Oregon felt like stepping back in a terrestrial time; these rock formations are over 40 million years old. Once a semi-tropical forest, it’s now a barren steppe landscape. We felt like anthropologists for the day getting to explore these fossil-ridden hills.
